Built by the dozen builders
New neighborhoods, different lot widths.
Woodcreek has grown into 12 neighborhoods of brick-and-stone homes, most built in the mid-2000s by about ten builders, on lots that average around 10,000 square feet. Monterra offers 50- to 70-foot lots, Edgewater's start around 4,000 square feet, and Williamsburg has been building since 2012.
On narrower lots, the front of the house is most of what your neighbors see. A traced roofline does a lot of work there.
Polar Express at City Hall
Fate's tree lighting is on the calendar.
The city has posted its Christmas Tree Lighting for Friday, Dec. 4, 2026, 6 to 9 pm at City Hall on CD Boren Parkway. The evening includes mini train rides around City Hall to see the lights, Santa photos at the big tree, a cocoa bar and a s'mores fire pit.
Old Fate, new Fate
A railroad town that kept growing.
Fate merged with the railroad town of Barnes in 1887, and the M-K-T rail line still runs through the middle of town. Only about 150 people lived here in 1950.
Today most Fate homes are less than twenty years old, which is why so many families here are doing their first Christmas lights on a roof they've never been up on. That's the part we take off your hands.
